Improving Our Animation

We will now take the result of the first tutorial and make it a little better looking by adding some reflection to the objects, changing the sky color, and using ray trace to create the frames. Do not assume that I have a clue about how to use Blender...

Loading the blender file

Start blender, click "File" (top menu bar)→"Open Recent"→"Basic-1-baked.blend" (or whatever file name you saved the results of tutorial 1 with).

Save the blender file

Before continuing lets save our blender file with a new name: "Basic-2-baked.blend" so we won't accidentally overwrite the old file.

Change the material on the "Cube"

Pick a convenient view for the cube and then select the cube. We selected the view from the camera ("View"→"Camera") and then selected the cube (remember right mouse click on the object to select). The image to the left shows our view of the cube object. Once you have the cube selected click on the "Panels" button just to the right of "Pac Man".

This will bring up the material shading panel on the next page.
